If you enjoy wildlife viewing, come to the Akwe River in February and March. The houligan run attracts as many as five hundred Stellar sea lions to the Akwe River each year, when they gather to gorge themselves on these fish. Along with sea lions, you'll see bald eagles, swans, as well as a large variety of other winged creatures. Wolves and bears come to feed as well. You may even get to see killer whales that come to feed on the sea lions.
Later in the spring, and again in the fall, you can witness the beauty of the humpback and grey whale migration. Each year, these giants migrate from Mexico, California, and Hawai'i to Yakutat. Some remain in Yakutat all summer long, while others migrate further north.
Call or e-mail us for more information on this incredible event, as well as other wildlife viewing opportunities available in Yakutat at almost any time of year.

| “It was the best thing I did while in Alaska. I especially want to thank our pilot, Les who provided a great flight, fantastic weather, wonderful banter, and a fantastic landing. He deserves a raise!” |
